A cheap, nice birthday party? Yes it's possible!
Ok so I know what it is like to try planning a Birthday on a small budget. To start with, if you absolutely HAVE to have colored plates, plastic ware, cups, and napkins, an extremely good place to go for all of that and balloons is Dollar Tree. Everything there is only $1 even preinflated balloons, they even have Disney balloons. You can get almost everything you need there! Well except food, I would not suggest that.. most of the food is very expired. They have party favors, streamers, plain balloons, pinata toys, party hats and more. All of the stuff may not be Hefty brand or Glad or another name brand but it is just as durable and it doesn't cost $7 for 6 forks. A really good place to go for good cheap cakes is Kmart. I would suggest the "Better Cream" or "Butter Cream" icing, it is very good, almost like whip cream and not over sweet like other frostings. A half sheet cake will feed around 25 people (5 children, 10 teens, 10 adults) with decent sized pieces. Kmart also has cheap Ice Cream. Nobody will notice or care if you don't get Bryer's or Deans. You CAN get Prairie Farms or any other "off brand" they taste just the same and it saves you a little cash which everyone knows is a good thing. Also while shopping at Kmart for birthday supplies you can even pick up a present! Ok now to food. I would suggest Town and County Market. They savings are unbeatable. Pop is usually on sale 10 for 10 on 2 liters of Coke or Pepsi products and the "off brand" pop is like 59-79 cents per 2 liter. Even chips are pretty cheap. Ok so you have a bunch of people coming over and you have absolutely no idea what to cook. Well you can get away with sloppy Joe's(pretty cheap & ground beef is pretty cheap, a good brand is Manwich) mostacholi, they are both pretty quick and easy to make. The directions for sloppy Joe's are on the Manwich can, I always add a little brown sugar and one extra can of manwich than it says, it makes it taste a lot better. mostacholiis super easy, just google a recipe. Now for invitations! Can you say FaceBook? Myspace? Yep that's right free invitations! If you want to invite someone that doesn't have either of those, email them, call them, text them, print invitations, or make some homemade. You can make invitations on the computer for free, just make them in your paint program! Just make sure to flip whatever is in the top upside down then print it and fold it in half, short ways then fold it like a book. (Whatever is on the top will be the outside and the bottom will be the inside. I hope you have great luck planning your party!
